Client is looking for an alternate method to easily assign an EAN Barcode to a PLU for some stores, while still allowing other Stores to remain with the UPC format. One consideration would be to add Barcode Format to the list of Selection Set Criteria so that a Usage Code can be defined for Barcode Type.
"Hi ADC, How do you recommend that we handle the few EAN barcode format PLU’s in regards to primary-label-types? Do you know if it is possible for a scale type to use one label-format for both UPC-A and EAN-13 barcodes? It looks like the Ishida might be able to, how about the hobarts? The “barcode format” must trigger the scale to do something, otherwise there would be no need for it. If we have to use a different label-type for EAN, how do we programmatically handle that? We cannot make the change using label-schema selection-sets, as they don’t have a barcode-format option. It would be nice if it was an option in the label schemas."
